A powered screwdriver that has been specifically engineered to accept both the L and S shaped Allen keys that come with flatpack furniture.

Most powered screwdrivers on the market have very similar design characteristics to minimize the risk of alienating the existing customer market. “Pistol” grip layout, bold core colours, dark grey rubber overmould and hard form crease lines. Even the brand logos are in the same place! These can be used to varying levels but the effect is the same; aggressive and powerful looking products that can only be used for lightweight tasks.

Throughout this project we tried to break the mould by exploring new layouts and visual cues to the better represents how the tool is used and who uses it. The innovative Allen key chuck for flat-pack furniture use also gives credibility for making the final design stand out.
